Police arrest six persons involved in looting, robbery by using night taxis



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested six persons involved in looting and robbery in Chandragiri using night taxis.

According to the police, they were arrested after complaints that they had looted some equipment from the factory of the Bishal Plastocab Pvt Ltd in Thankot on November 27.

Police have arrested Roshan Upreti, 39, a permanent resident of Sindhupalchowk, Ram Punit Mahato, 33 of Sarlahi, Ram Bagdas of Nuwakot, Ram Biswas Mahato alias Raju Gupta, Ashok Kumar Mahato of Sarlahi, and Satrughan Prasad Jaiswal of Mahottari, India.

They are charged with stealing six “Sizers” used to make pipes, and copper cable worth Rs 18,76,400.

They were arrested from Buddhanagar on Monday evening, police said.

Further investigations are underway, according to the police.
