Rs 6.15 billion allocated to construct 396 general hospitals



KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 6.15 billion for 396 general hospitals for the expansion of health services in rural areas.

Unveiling the budget for the fiscal year 2078/07, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said that the amount has been allocated. The hospitals laid by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have 5, 10, and 15 beds.

The government has also announced that the hospital will be operational within two months. Rs. 6.12 billion has been disbursed for the construction of this hospital building in the current fiscal year.

According to the Ministry of Health, the construction of the hospital and installation of equipment is estimated to cost over Rs 50 billion.
