FNJ’s new building bulldozed without prior information



AMARGADHI: Newly constructed building of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) in Dadheldhura district has been bulldozed without notifying the FNJ in advance.

The Amargadhi Municipality in the district and Division Forest Office, Dadheldhura demolished the building using security forces and dozer.

The FNJ has issued a press statement here today and condemned the act. FNJ Dadheldhura chapter president Hikmat Bahadur Singh and Secretary Pushkar Bhandari issued a press statement today and protested damaging the three-storey building.

The building also has office of the Sudurpaschim Provincial Information Centre.

The FNJ Dadheldhura chapter has asserted that the damaged caused to the building was illegal, against the freedom of press and an unforgivable offence.

The FNJ Dadheldhura chapter has clarified that it had the rights to use the land where the building was built.

The FNJ Dadheldhura has slammed the cavalier attitude of the local administration and Division Forest Office, Dadheldhura to address the issue through dialogues.

Division Forest Office, Dadheldhura’s divisional forest officer Bishnu Prasad Acharya has apologized for any inconvenience cause due to their ignorance on the issue.

The FNJ Dadheldhura chapter has warned to launch protest if the culprits involved in dismantling the newly built building was not brought to book within 24 hours and investigation into the incident was not held.
