NC smells a rat on Baglung incident, demands impartial probe

KATHMANDU:  Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded that the culprit behind the Baglung incident be arrested and brought to book without further delay.

Two youths had died in a clash that erupted during a fair organized on the occasion of Holi festival in Baldedhuri in the district on Sunday.

Issuing a statement on Monday, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, the spokesperson of the NC, said, “The NC calls for a thorough and impartial investigation into the Baglung incident and bring the real culprit of the incident to book without further delay.”

NC has smelt a rat on the incident of the deaths of two youths – Prakash Kunwar, 36, and Deepak Nepali, 34, – who died in a clash that cropped up due to misunderstanding and wrath among the Holi enthusiasts.

The recovery of the dead bodies of Kunwar and Nepal 400 meters down the cliff apparently indicates that either they were thrown down the cliff after killing or murdered them by pushing them down the cliff, reads the press statement.

Baldedhuri area lies in the bordering area of Gulmi, Baglung and Pyuthan districts.
