One drowns, other missing in Mahakali boat capsize



KANCHANPUR: A person has died and the other went missing after a boat capsized in the Mahakali River.

The deceased has been identified as 13-year-old Mina Saud of Shivanath rural municipality. Eight-year-old Sandeep Saud of Shivanath-1 has gone missing in the accident, said Police Inspector Darsharn Khadka.

The boat with 10 people onboard capsized while sailing across the Mahakali River at Khandghat in Shivanath-1 on Wednesday evening.

Eight people who were sailing across in through the river are safe.

Mina’s body has been found this morning. A search operation is underway for the missing, said police.
