KMC warns 23 big taxpayers to pay tax within 3 days



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has made public the details of 23 big taxpayers and warned that it would be compelled to seal the businesses if they do not pay taxes within three days.

The KMC issued the warning after the 23 taxpayers have been repeatedly defying the public notice.

According to the KMC, an amount of about Rs 700 million is to be collected from them as tax.

The KMC revenue department head Dr. Shiva Raj Adhikari said that the businesses of the taxpayers who do not pay their taxes within the stipulated time will be sealed and their property will be confiscated in accordance with the Revenue Act, Local Government Operation Act, and the prevailing laws, policies and rules.

The taxpayers include Kantipur Dental Hospital, Chirayu Hospital, Devendra Lal Shrestha, NRT Club, United World Trade Center, Buddhabari Complex, Bagmati Chamber, Kathmandu Engineering College, Nepal Tuberculosis Center, Nepal Red Cross Society, Aadar Complex, National Hospital, Shaheed Memorial Hospital, and Agricultural Inputs Corporation.

Likewise, other taxpayers including Manmohan Memorial College and Teaching Hospital, RB Complex, Suraj Arcade, Shubhashree Cooperative, Kathmandu Plaza, Nepal Share Market, Gopalji Properties and Star Mall.
