Case filed against five individuals including ex-planning chief



KATHMANDU: A case has been filed against five individuals including Bijaya Chalise, the former planning chief of Pushpa Lal Highway (Mid-Hill) for his alleged involvement in misappropriating Rs 68,93,778.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed the case against Chalise for not carrying out the road construction work in Khotang road section as per the contract signed.

The anti-graft body has concluded that the construction work has been done against the estimate and the report has been submitted that has been fraught with wrong details.

Former Engineer Deep Kumar Khadka, Sub Engineer Gajendra Prasad Raut, Account Officer Durga Prasad Phuyal and Managing Director of Mahadev Khimti Construction Services Rabi Singh have been mentioned as defendants in the case, informed Narayan Prasad Risal, the spokesperson of the CIAA .
