Govt decides to grant permission for 5G frequency testing only to Nepal Telecom



KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has granted the 5G frequency test to the Nepal Telecom only.

The Radio Frequency Determination Committee has made the decision to grant the 5G test permission to  Nepal Telecom only. T

The committee  led by the Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parvat Gurung decided to launch 5G test in the country.

Interestingly, Ncell has already set up  infrastructure for 5G expansion in the country.

However, the committee decided to grant test permission  only to the government-owned Nepal Telecom Company.

“In the decision sent to us, Nepal Telecom has been asked to arrange free frequency in case of need,” the  Telecom source said.

Earlier,  the permission to launch 4G service was granted to Nepal Telecom alone.
