Maintain caution while celebrating Holi: Nepal Police



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has requested everyone to maintain special caution while celebrating Holi festival in view of the risk of Covid-19.

It has made a special request to the people to abide by the health and safety standard set by the government to contain the threat of Covid-19.

It also directed all 77 district police offices to enforce security measures and inspect whether the safety protocol is implemented.

Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, said, “Government has already reminded people to observe Holi festival by staying at home and avoiding gathering.

In this background, all security offices in district have been urged to maintain security accordingly.” Holi festival is being marked today in hilly region and on Monday in Tarai belt this year.

The Ministry of Health and Population has already cautioned the people that the second wave of Coronavirus could spread in Nepal too because it has already hit countries including India, Britain, France and others.
