KATHMANDU: Eight-time league Champions Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) became the fourth civilian club to run a football academy after signing a six-year agreement with Nepal Adarsha Awasiya Vidyalaya.
An agreement was reached between the club, school, and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) amid a special program at Nepal Adarsha Awasiya Vidyalaya in Pokhara, ANFA said.
The agreement is similar to that of the agreement signed by the Sankata Club, Satdobato Youth Club, and the New Road Team (NRT). As per the agreement, 14 players―seven players from the clubs and school―will join the academy for the first year. The players will train with the club while continuing their studies in the school.
For the second year, the club will provide 14 players taking the total players to 21.
MMC’s Vice President Karma Tshering Gurung and Nepal Adarsha Awasiya Vidyalaya Principal Kamal Gurung signed the agreement.
ANFA Vice President and Grassroots and Youth Coordinator Upendra Man Singh signed in the agreement from ANFA.
ANFA President Karma Tshering Sherpa and other executive committee members were also present in the signing ceremony.
