BIRGUNJ: Keeping its eyes on the spiking coronavirus cases, the district administration office Parsa has decided to enforce weeklong prohibitory order effective from Thursday.
According to Pitambar Ghimire, the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Parsa, the District Level COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (DCMC), has decided to enforce prohibitory orders halting most of the activities and movements but for the most essential ones as the measure to curb coronavirus pandemic.
CDO Ghimire informed that the first phase of the prohibitory order will be enforced from Thursday, April 29 to Wednesday midnight.
Similarly, except for the Birgunj-Inaruwa checkpoint, the movement from other checkpoints connected to India under the district will be totally restricted. The person entering through the Inaruwa checkpoint has to undergo a mandatory health examination and stay in the prescribed isolation or home isolation.
DCCMC Parsa has assigned the responsibility of management of holding center to be set up at Thakur Ram Multiple Campus to Nepal Army.
Parsa, a Tarai district bordering with India has witnessed a surge of coronavirus cases of late.
