Two arrested with weapons from Kathmandu’s Gahanapokhari

KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has nabbed two persons in possession with illegal arms and ammunitions from Gahanapokhari, Kathmandu.

According to DIG Raju Aryal, APF spokesperson, the intelligence team of the Special Bureau of the Armed Police has arrested Pote Lama and Ananta Tamang of Kavre along with a 9mm pistol and five rounds of ammunition and handed them over to the police for further investigation.

Among the arrested, Pote Lama was sentenced for a year by Kathmandu District Court. He was also fined Rs 15,000.

Holding him responsible for the death of a person in the gang fight inTimes Club in Kamaladi in 2018, the court had issued imprisonment order. He had been absconding since.

The police claimed that they are a group that loots the Buddhachitta grains.
