We see both Deuba and Oli as regressive: JSP leader Mahato

KATHMANDU: Leader of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Rajendra Mahato has said he sees both the incumbent Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as regressive personalities.

“Both Deuba and Oli are regressive for us. They drafted a regressive constitution,” Mahato told the media Monday on the premises of the Election Commission (EC).

All 51 members of JSP’s Executive Committee were called at the EC for head count to settle the authenticity claim of the party’s dispute today. As many as 34 JSP Executive Committee members signed in favor of the faction led by Chairman Upendra Yadav and 16 stood with the faction led by Chairman Mahantha Thakur in the EC verification process.

Leader Yadav also accused the EC for splitting the JSP. “The people should determine the authenticity of the JSP and not the EC,” he said.
