Tourist arrival via Kakarvitta border point drops to nil



KAKARVITTA: The number of new tourist arrivals via eastern border point, Kakarvitta has dropped to zero in the fiscal year 2077/78, Immigration Office, Kakarvitta said.

Immigration office Chief Janak Koirala shared that no new tourist has entered via the border point as it was sealed due to the COVID-19 pandemic for 15 months.

He added that tourists who came to visit India have made their efforts to enter Nepal via the border point but the government has not issued any permission so far.

The immigration office had collected Rs 5 million 64 thousand 421 in the fiscal year 2077/78 from visa renewal while it had collected over 10 million in the previous fiscal year.
