KATHMANDU: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has deemed the latest dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR) as unconstitutional and undemocratic.

Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the umbrella organization of all law practitioners of the country NBA has objected to President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s decision to dissolve HoR hailing the move unconstitutional.

“The Nepal Bar Association expresses its serious objection to the unconstitutional without following the due process,” the statement read, adding, “The Bar objects that the institution assumed to resolve the political and constitutional crisis took to declaration of election on such a pandemic time.”

According to NBA, this kind of unconstitutional act has violated the rule of law and human rights.

The Association has said that such moves put the constitution in crisis.

NBA has also objected to the President’s appointment of  KP Oli as Prime Minister by ignoring the claims of the opposition coalition demanding NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s appointment as Prime Minister.
