Police nab 10 for leaking questions in engineering exam



BIRATNAGAR: Police have arrested 10 people allegedly involved in bringing out the original question paper of the second semester physics subject of Bachelors of Engineering exam at Gothagaon, Morang.

According to sources, Komal Prasad Gautam, 44, of Morang, Gopal Karki, 35, of Sankhuwasabha, Vijay Pokharel, 30, of Rupandehi, Min Prasad Bhatt, Bharat Pathan, Vikas Khadka, of Gorkha, Nirmal Khadka, 28, of Sindhupalchowk, Nanipath Mandal, 29, of Mahottari, Jeevan Kumar Yadav, 29, and  Mahesh Yadav, 26, of Saptari for leaking the question papers in the exam conducted by Purbanchal University.

They had released the question papers before the examination.

The police investigation found that the questions were first leaked by a University staff assigned to photocopy the paper.

The police have arrested the staff and seized the photocopy machine as well.

According to the Morang police, the arrested will be tried as per the Education Act, 1971.

Investigation is underway for further details.
