Valley CDOs discuss enforcing prohibitory orders from April 29

KATHMANDU: Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have discussed enforcing prohibitory orders in the Valley.

Even though the meeting of three CDOs proposed imposition of prohibitory order from April 29, they are currently engaged in internal discussion with their respective officials about its pros and cons.

The meeting held at Kathmandu District Administration Office has proposed a two-week prohibitory orders from Thursday.

It should be noted that the Covid-19 Coordination Management Committee (CCMC) had also suggested the government enforce prohibitory order from the same day.

Prior to Monday’s joint meeting, the three CDOs had consulted with Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane.

The government, meanwhile, has been refusing to enforce nationwide lockdown.

The government has delegated the authority to the lower levels of government.
