KATHMANDU: A group of people including the civil society campaigners, Heritage Protection Group Newa De Dabu among many others, have dismantled concrete structures built in at Kamalpokhari in Kathmandu.

A group of people including Civil Society Campaigners Narayan Wagle, Alok Siddhi Tuladhar, Rajendra Maharjan among many others marched from Maitighar Mandala to Kamalpokhari and destroyed structures demanding that the historical pond should get its former hues back.

The police, deployed in large numbers, intervened.

The campaigners demand that taking lessons from Ranipokhari, another historical pond in Kathmandu, Kamalpokhari also should be renovated restoring its historical beauty.
