KATHMANDU: A contempt of court case has been registered against four former Chief Justices (CJs) of the Supreme Court (SC) and former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana.

Rajaram Ghimire on Tuesday filed a writ petition at the apex court against four former Chief Justices and former Speaker Dhungana.

Former Chief Justices Anupraj Sharma, Min Bahadur Rayamajhi, Kalyan Shrestha, and Sushila Karki in a statement had remarked that the dissolution of the House of Representatives was unconstitutional.

Former Speaker Dhungana had said that it would be better if the day when Justices are pulled from streets doesn’t come.

It is alleged in the petition that they have done contempt of court by commenting on the case under consideration at the apex court. They have been asked to answer in person by appearing before the court.

Earlier today, a contempt of court case was filed at the SC against Prime Minister KP Oli.
