UML seeks to dissolve parliament for third time: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has accused the main opposition party CPN-UML of trying to dissolve the parliament for the third time.

Speaking at an interaction program with editors of various media outlets on the eve of the National Conference of Maoist Center on Saturday, Chairman Prachanda said that the UML is trying to justify its dissolution of the House of Representatives by obstructing the parliamentary activities.

He said that the UML’s continuous obstruction of the House is meant to make parliament functionless and establish its argument that this parliament is ineffective.

“UML’s continuous obstruction is intended to justify then Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Oli’s move of dissolving the House twice,” Prachanda said, adding, “It’s an attempt to push for the third dissolution of the parliament. Yet, we will not let it go that way. The government and the parliament will function their full term and go for election.”
