Incredible achievements gained in health sector: Home Minister Khand



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that amazing achievements have been made in health sector due to development of science and technology.

Home Minister Khand opined that although extraordinary achievements have been made in health sector in course of prolonging the human life, number of poor people has been increasing.

Inaugurating the ninth annual general assembly cum third convention of Gautam Buddha Community Health Institution and ninth establishment day of Gautam Buddha Heart Hospital at Butwal today, he shared that people are compelled to do treatment in private hospitals even after spending their all properties to extend life expectancy.

The Home Minister further said that it was necessary to utilize the means, resources, property, and knowledge of the people for the development of the society and the country as the government alone could not fulfill the multifaceted responsibilities for the country’s modernization as desired by the people.

He mentioned, “This is a new trend and compulsion of the world.” The government should establish and protect the non-profit organisations along with promotion of private sector.

Saying Butwal has its own history and established in present condition from its own strength, Home Minister Khand shared that it does not make any difference in development of Butwal even if it is not the capital of Lumbini Province and it has become capable from collective efforts.

He expressed commitment that he would take initiative to provide land for Gautam Buddha Community Hospital, proposed at Tilottama municipality.

Similarly, Lumbini province assembly member, Bhoj Prasad Shrestha, said that it was the main responsibility of all people’s representatives how to accelerate the development pace.

Another Lumbini province assembly member Bishnu Panthi pointed out that the government should revise some rules, regulations and work procedure as some of the government rule, regulation and work procedure become obstacle of development.

Likewise, Hospital Chairperson Azaj Alam urged the Home Minister to provide the land as soon as possible for the construction of 800-bed modern hospital.
