As per the newly amended legislation of the party, 12 office bearers will be nominated by the Central Committee.

Although the disgruntled leaders had earlier criticized the amendment, cunningly Chairman Oli repeated his conviction about the powerful Chairman the days after the leaders rejoined the party meeting.

Speaking at a press conference at the Tulsi Lal Memorial Foundation, on Wednesday, UML Chairman Oli said, “If we introduce a system of electing a president from a central member, there will always be a plot to change the president; this will cause instability in the party.”
