British Ambassador Pollitt calls on Finance Minister Sharma



KATHMANDU: British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt has called on Finance Minister Janardan Sharma at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar today.

The meeting between the duo is said to have dwelt on bilateral welfare between Nepal and the UK and climate change.

The issues of the losses caused by flooding and landslides in various parts of the country and the UK’s assistance for rehabilitation, relief efforts and reconstruction of the damaged infrastructures were also discussed on the occasion, said the Ministry.

During the meeting, the minister drew the attention of the International Development Partners.

Making effective policy for the countries adversely hit by climate change like Nepal to get compensation should be discussed in the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, it has been discussed.
