KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday left for Eastern Nepal to inspect the damage caused by floods and landslides due to incessant rains.
Prime Minister Deuba flew by helicopter to inspect the damage caused by floods and landslides in the eastern district Sunday morning.
A team including Prime Minister Deuba, who had earlier returned after observing the flood damage in the far western region, will inspect the damage caused by floods and landslides in Sunsari, Morang, Ilam, Panchthar and other districts.
According to his private secretariat, Prime Minister Deuba will hold discussions with the Chief District Officers of the two districts at Ranke Bazaar on the border of Ilam and Panchthar.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister for Energy Pampha Bhusal and Minister of State for Health Bhawani Prasad Khapung are also in the team.
The team is scheduled to return to Kathmandu this evening after observing Eastern Nepal.
