KARNALI: District Administration Office, Surkhet, has extended the ongoing lockdown for one more week saying that the number of coronavirus cases did not come down as expected.
Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal informed that the order on enforcement of lockdown was extended for a week in order to contain the growing coronavirus. The infection was increased after the lockdown was relaxed. Saving people’s lives is therefore the first priority, he underscored.
However, the medical shops are allowed running for 24 hours. Similarly, the vehicles carrying vegetables, fruits and milk are allowed to run from 6:00am to 6:00pm. The groceries and others shops would be open from 8:00am to 7:00pm, said assistant CDO Rom Bahadur Mahat.
Moreover, the hotels and restaurants are asked not to gather people more than 50 percent of their capacity and abide by health and safety protocol. The assembly, seminar, dohori dance, feasts, sports, swimming, Deuda and fairs are prohibited in the district.
