Nepal inaugurates consulate in Chengdu of China



KATHMANDU: Nepal has brought into operation a Consulate General Office in Chengdu, China, from Monday.

Nepal’s Ambassador to China Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and high-ranking officials of Sichuan Province jointly inaugurated the consulate office amidst a program. Dinesh Chandra Ghimire is stationed at the consulate in Chengdu.

Speaking at the inauguration, Ambassador Pandey said the consulate would further the centuries-old mutual understanding and trust shared by Nepal and China. He expressed confidence that the establishment of the consulate office would increase exchanges in all areas, and relations would be further improved.

Likewise, Li Yunji, vice governor of Sichuan province, said the consulate office would ensure boosting trade, tourism, commerce, and people-to-people contacts.
