DSP Kharel dies from COVID-19 infection

KATHMANDU: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Samir Chandra Kharel has died due to COVID-19.

According to the Naxal Police Headquarters, Kharel died while undergoing coronavirus treatment at Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj, on Monday.

He had been working at the police headquarters in Naxal after returning from a UN peacekeeping mission.

Earlier, DSP Raj Kumar KC also breathed his last at the police hospital.
