One killed, 22 injured in Halesi bus accident



KHOTANG: One person died and 22 got injured when a bus carrying 39 pilgrims met with an accident on the Mid-Hills Highway in Halesi-Tuvachung Municipality-1, Kaduwa on Saturday.

According to SP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha, Ba 3 Kha 9285 bus which had 39 people on board, lost control in the street and fell 15 meters down while returning to Saptari from Halesi, Khotang.

Anil Tamang, 25, of Sindhuli Ghyanglek-1 died on the spot. Deceased Tamang was the co-driver of the bus.

“22 injured people are still undergoing treatment in various hospitals whereas 16 others who sustained minor injuries in the accident have been sent home,” Khotang police informed.

SP Shrestha informed that the road disturbed by the accident was cleared at around 2 pm.
