COVID-19: Eight districts have over 500 active cases each



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has said that eight districts in the country have more than 500 cases coronavirus cases each as of Saturday.

According to the Ministry sources, eight districts including all three districts of Kathmandu valley recorded more than 500 active cases.

Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Parsa, Kaski, Dang, Banke, Rupandehi and Kaski have got more than 500 active cases of coronavirus at present.

The Ministry data reveals that the number of districts with more than 500 cases is increasing lately denoting the increase in the overall active cases in the country.

Nepal recorded a total of 2,619 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry, 2,486 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR method while 133 have been tested positive through the Antigen method.

644 persons in Kathmandu, 87 in Lalitpur, and 141 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for the pandemic virus as of Saturday afternoon, the source informed.

Meanwhile, 368 persons have returned home after complete health recovery today.

Similarly, the ministry shared that 14 more fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 3,136.
