Fire guts house, properties worth Rs 1 million



SARLAHI:  Properties worth Rs 1 million have been reduced to ashes as a fire broke out in a house in Barahathawa municipality in the district.

The fire which broke out in the house of Raj Kumar Mahato in Barahathawa-9 apparently due to short circuit on Tuesday night gutted the house, Rs 350,000 in cash and other clothes and utensils.

According to a preliminary estimation, properties around Rs 950,000 were destroyed in the fire.

The fire was brought under control by police with the help of locals, said District Police Office, Sarlahi.
