KATHMANDU: Two directors of Olympia World School have been arrested on allegations of fraud worth 30 million rupees.

According to SSP Ashok Singh, the Chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Kathmandu, Shirish Khadka and Surendra Maharjan, the directors of Kathmandu-based Olympia School have been nabbed from Kathmandu on Saturday.

SSP Singh informed that four more are absconding.

According to the sources, the alleged had taken Rs. 27.5 million as “advance” from Krishna Prasad Devkota promising to sell him 2 ropani 14 anna and  2 paisa land registered in the school’s name in Koteshwor in April 2019 but had sold the land to another person.

Devkota complained that taking advantage of Khadka’s father’s position, they have been denying to return his money.

Khadka is the son of Laxmi Bahadur Nirala Khadka, a Judicial Council member.

Devkota had lodged the complaint a year ago alleging that they neither returned the money nor passed the land in his name within the stipulated date. Rather they had sold the land to someone else in November while they were still absconding.

The police informed that they had not obtained consent from the Education Department while selling the school land. Police said the investigation is underway.
