BHAKTAPUR: Police have arrested Ward Chairman of Manthali Municipality-10 in Ramechhap on the charge of rape.
A team of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi arrested Ward Chairman Bharat Bahadur Bohara in coordination with the District Police Office, Ramechhap.
DSP Rishi Ram Kandel of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi said that a case of rape has been registered against Bohara.
He was arrested from Ramechhap and brought to Bhaktapur.
A former acquaintance of Bohara has lodged a complaint alleging that she was raped at her rented room in Thimi ten days ago.
The victim claims that she was raped under the influence of alcohol.
