Protest held denouncing killing of Bharatpur’s Bhim Bahadur BK

KATHMANDU: A demonstration has been staged against the thrashing to death of Bhim Bahadur BK, 58, of Bharatpur Metropolis, Chitwan, in Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu, Saturday.

Rights activists gathered at Maitighar to protest the killing of Bhim Bahadur on the day of Dashain’s Mahanawami. They have demanded an end to discrimination, saying that Bhim Bahadur was killed due to caste discrimination.

Rights activists carried placards that read Bhim Bahadur’s post-mortem report be made public and those involved in the murder be brought to book, among others.

On the day of Mahanavami of Dashain, Bhim Bahadur was beaten to death by a local. Police have arrested 40-year-old Sitaram Basnet and 36-year-old Dilip Shrestha for their involvement in the murder.
