CIAA files case against Chudamani Sharma, three others at Special Court

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed Rs 1.33 billion corruption case against the then Director-General of the Inland Revenue Department Chudamani Sharma and three others at the Special Court.

The CIAA filed the case on Wednesday against Sharma, the then chairman of the Tax Settlement Commission Lumbadhwaj Mahat and member Umesh Prasad Dhakal at the court against financial irregularities.

CIAA Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Risal said that a case was filed against them demanding Rs 1.33 billion.

Risal said that the case was filed against them on the charge of corruption by giving exemption to taxpayers in various tax statements.
