NRNA, Japan, facing financial irregularities dispute

TOKYO: A dispute over financial irregularities has surfaced in the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Japan.

Members of the working committee have started blaming each other after allegations of corruption against Committee President Devi Lal Bhandari.

The dispute surfaced in the Committee over the issue of financial irregularities of Rs 1.1 million taken as insurance from a family of a deceased.

A written request has been made to the international committee for the investigation after the dispute was not settled immediately.

Earlier in 2017, NRNA, Japan, had faced a corruption charge.

A majority of the members of the working committee including senior vice-president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary of the NRNA, Japan, blamed President Bhandari for his involvement in financial irregularities and have made preparation to suspend him if he did not resign from the post.

Whereas, President Bhandari argued that he has not committed any financial irregularities, saying it was only a false accusation. This dispute has created doubt over holding the NRNA, Japan’s convention on time. RSS
