President’s Office removes controversial statements from website

KATHMANDU: The Office of the President has initiated an investigation into what it said: “sudden disappearance” of press releases uploaded to the President’s Office website after the second week of May.

Statements uploaded on the President’s Office website https://president.gov.np/ about the dissolution of the House of Representatives and the date of the new election are missing.

The statements uploaded on the website at 1:48 pm on Saturday on the House dissolution and the date of the next general election to the House of Representatives have been missing from the site.

The spokesperson of the President’s Office, Joint Secretary Rup Narayan Bhattarai, said that the investigation has been initiated.
