Nabbed after over six years



KATHMANDU: Bhaktapur police has nabbed a wife, who killed her husband to hide her illicit affair, after more than six and half years of the incident.

According to Bhaktapur police, Parvati Thapa Magar of Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur has been nabbed in connection with the murder of her husband Bishnu Thapa Magar, 32, immediately after returning home from Gulf ending his 22 months stay there.

Interestingly, the wife had poisoned her husband to death by making him enjoy the poisoned meal on February 11, 2016 and rushed him to hospital for his ‘mysterious death.’ She had sent her children to school giving them the meal prepared previous night.

“When Bishnu felt dizzy due to the poison, his wife rushed him to hospital where he was pronounced death on the same afternoon.

According to Bhaktapur police, Bishnu had no injuries on his body and the postmortem report also showed no injuries inside.

Bishnu had returned on February 10.

After Bishnu’s death, Parvati requested Bhaktapur police for the investigation of her husband’s sudden death.

She was relieved not to get police attention. Besides, the Central Police Forensic Science Laboratory gave the test report on s of Bishnu’s vishera and pulses, eggs and rice from the spot and sent them to the Central Police Forensic Science Laboratory. The laboratory gave the test report on July 24, 2017, nearly two years after the incident.

The report showed that organ phosphorous insecticide in his meal.

Investigators were shocked to see the report.

Later, Bishnu’s brother Lok Bahadur Thapa Magar lodged a FIR alleging that his sister-in-law Parvati had killed his brother by adding poison to his food.

However, by the time the police started searching her Parvati had fled abroad for foreign employment.

The Police have taken Parvati into custody on April 21 and  are further investigating the incident.
