Six local levels in Dang sans fire engine

TULSIPUR: Six local levels in Dang are yet to ensure prompt fire service. Only four, out of ten local levels, in the district of Lumbini province, have ensured the service.

It means other local levels have to seek help from the four local levels in case of emergency.
The Ghorahi and Tulsipur sub-metropolis offices, Lamahi municipality, and the Gadhawa rural municipality have managed firefighters on their own while the Dangisharan, Shantinagar, Rajpur, Bangalachuli, Babai and Rapti rural municipalities have no fire engines.

Babai rural municipality vice-chair Sabitra Bishwakarma said she would be proposing the next local body executive meeting to proceed towards the procurement of fire engine while Bangalachuli rural municipality vice-chair Yamuna Gharti said, “Operation of firefighting service seems challenging at the locality due to its geographical condition as it is mostly a hilly area.”

Dangisharan’s chair Bhagiram Chaudhary said though they were in the position of procuring fire engines, there might be problems in paying the related workforce while Shantinagar’s vice-chair Mithila Shah said the issue had not been yet raised in the previous meetings.RSS
