IPL 2021: Bangalore beats Rajasthan, tops points table



KATHMANDU: Royal Challengers Bangalore has defeated Rajasthan Royals by 10 wickets in a cricket match under the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Thursday.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Rajasthan notched up 177 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs in the 16th match held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Bangalore reached the target in 16.3 overs without losing any wickets.

Rajasthan’s Shivam Dube hit the highest 46 runs followed by Rahul Tewatiya with 40 runs while Riyan Parag collected 25 runs.

In reply, Bangalore’s Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel took three wickets each while Kayal Jemison, Kane Richardson and Washington Sundar claimed one wicket each of Rajasthan.

Chasing the 178-run target, Bangalore’s Devdutt Paddikal scored a century with 101 runs and remained unbeaten. Captain Birat Kohli notched up 72 runs.

This is the fourth consecutive victory by Bangalore. With this win, Bangalore has topped the points table with eight points. Rajasthan is at the bottom with one win out of four matches it played.
