GORKHA: The Integrated model human settlement built for the quake survivors in Gupsipakha of Laprak Dharche rural municipality-4 of the district was handed over to the beneficiaries today.

A total of 573 houses have been built for the quake survivors in the human settlement established by the Non-resident Nepalis Association.

Chief of Nepal Reconstruction Authority Sushil Gyawali, MP Hari Raj Adhikari, and NRNA Chair Kumar Pant handed over the houses to the beneficiaries at a function held today.

A total of Rs. 570.6 million was spent in the construction of the houses which includes a two-story house with four rooms for every household.

The construction was delayed by three years as it took more than five years to complete against the original plan to have it done in two years.

Some works remain including roads and sewage management and will be completed soon, NRA CEO Gyawali said.
