Ghorahi Cement ordered to apply pollution management measures



DEUKHURI: The Ghorahi Cement Industry Pvt Ltd has been ordered by the court to implement pollution-control measures immediately.

The High Court, Tulsipur in Dang had issued an interim order in the name of industry directing to immediately adopt pollution control and management mechanism.

A joint bench of Chief Judge Neeta Gautam Dixit and judge Ramesh Raj Pokhrel ordered the industry to instantly fix a bag filter, windbreak wall, and so on to control pollution.

It may be noted that the court verdict followed a writ petition filed by the locals against ‘increased pollution from the industry.

The writ which had named the cement factory and the District Administration Office defendants claimed that dust, smokes, and sound pollution from the industry had its adverse effect on public health and the situation had made their life difficult.
