TU to conduct FSU poll on June 13

KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan University (TU) has announced to conduct the Free Students’ Union (FSU) poll on June 13.

The TU on Monday announced to conduct the poll on the given date following an agreement signed with the students by ending the 48-day-long relay hunger strike of the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU).

The TU has summoned an all-side discussion on May 7 to conduct the FSU poll.

NSU leader Shiva Rimal said that agreement has also been made to implement the TU academic calendar and announce the result of examinations of different subjects that were stalled due to COVID-19.

Similarly, an agreement was made to form a three-member committee to resolve the issues facing the Central Department of Sociology, TU, and the committee is assigned to submit its recommendation within two months.

TU Rector Prof Dr Shivalal Bhusal and Dr Shyam Krishna Adhikari, on behalf of NSU, have signed the agreement paper.

Likewise, TU Rector Bhusal broke the hunger strike of the students by offering them fruit juice.
