PM Oli objects to Deuba’s words to Prez Bhandari

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has objected to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s language used to address President Bidya Devi Bhandari in his statement Saturday.

Addressing a program in Baluwatar on Saturday afternoon, PM Oli objected to NC President Deuba’s addressing President Bhandari as ‘timi’, literally informal ‘you’.

“Today I saw the official statement of Nepali Congress President Deuba,” PM Oli said, adding, “He has used derogatory term to address the President.”

He wondered if NC President would use the same language to address the dignitaries of noble families.

“Would he have used the same language to the feuds or the person from aristocratic family?” PM Oli asked, adding, “It is shameful that the leaders who used to be subservient to the royalists are speaking humiliatingly against the elected president of the country.”

He added that NC President’s language used against President Bhandari denounced the republic.
