PM Oli lays foundation stone of Daiji-Chhela Industrial Estate in Kanchanpur



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has laid the foundation stone of Daiji-Chhela Industrial Estate in Kanchanpur.

The Prime Minister, who reached Kanchanpur by helicopter Monday afternoon, laid the foundation stone of the industrial estate to be set up in Vedkot Municipality Ward No. 2 and 3.

The government has allocated Rs. 9 billion to make Daiji Chhela Industrial Estate, which has been under discussion for 25 years.

The government led by the then Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari had announced to build an industrial estate here in 1995.

Since then, the work of creating an industrial estate, which has been on the election agenda time and time again, had not been materialized.

The area is at a distance of 6 km from East-West Mahendra Highway and is also connected to Daiji-Jogbudha Highway.

More than 100 industries, including forest, agriculture, metals and plastics, engineering and fabricating, food, mineral water, paper, cement and iron will be established in the estate.

The government aims to provide employment to more than 22,000 Nepalis in this industrial estate.
