CPN-UML Chairman Oli holds discussion with senior leader Nepal

Leader Nepal refuses to speak to media. Says, "I won't say anything."

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal held a two-hour-long discussion at the Marriot Hotel in Nagpokhari Wednesday evening.

The two leaders were seen exiting the hotel at around 7 pm this evening. Senior leader Nepal refused to divulge the content of the discussion to the media.

The two leaders exited the hotel in a gay mood and PM’s special financial advisor Moti Dugad told media that he perceived the meeting was overall positive.

During the meeting, the two leaders reportedly held serious deliberations on ways to manage the internal strife in the party.

This was the first time that they sat for a dialogue after the dissolution of the House of Representatives last December.

According to sources, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel accompanied PM Oli to the meeting.

Early Wednesday, leader Yogesh Bhattarai met UML Chair Oli at the latter’s official residence and urged him to take initiatives to protect the party from disintegration.

The meeting between the two is very meaningful at a time when the rift is the party has reached new height.
