President Bhandari flying to Bangladesh on a chartered flight



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is leaving for Dhaka on Monday on a two-day state visit to Bangladesh.

She is flying to Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on a chartered narrow-body aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation.

According to sources, Lumbini, one of the corporation’s two narrow-body aircraft, will take 39 people, including Bhandari, from Kathmandu to Dhaka on Monday at 9.45 am.

On Tuesday, narrow-body ‘Sagarmatha’ will be used to come to Kathmandu from Dhaka.

The Corporation has requested a waiver through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as ground handling (parking).

The official said that the ground handling charge in Dhaka would cost 30,000 dollars.
