RAUTAHAT: Accusing the police of offering amnesty to the culprit, the locals of Bijaypur area have protested against the police and have pelted stone at the police office on Monday.

According to sources, the families and relatives of a motorcyclist who died in tipper collision Sunday night have surrounded the Bijaypur Police post to pressurize the police to take action against the guilty.

Earlier, Khedu Chaudhary, a motorcyclist, was killed in a collision with a tipper at Himalibas, Vijaypur-11, Fatuwa, Sunday evening.

The locals alleged that the police sent the body for postmortem without informing the victim’s family.

However, the police have denied the allegations.

The police fired in the air thrice to control the mob that gathered around the police post and pelted stone.

Protesters are now blocking the road in front of the police office.

The police have nabbed the tipper driver on Monday.
