Fugitive murder-accused lands in police net



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man who had been on the run after allegedly killing his wife.

Acting on a tip-off, a police squad of Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur arrested 28-year-old Jeevan Rai of Bhojpur, Kerabari, informed DSP Raju Pandey.

Rai had been at large after beating his wife Mandira Rai, 25, to death on Sunday evening. Rai couple had been staying at a rented room in Suryabinayak municipality-5, Katunje in Bhaktapur.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking Rai into custody.
