Nepalis in Qatar to help woman with a broken spine

KATHMANDU: Nepalis living and working in Qatar have raised funds to help the medical treatment of a woman who did not get it due to financial constraints.

Sunita Tharu, 26, has been ailing with a broken spine that she suffered in a road accident a year ago.

She was sent to Kathmandu-based Trauma Center for treatment. A financial assistance of Rs. 200,000 was received after folk singer and social worker Shankar Pant appealed to the Nepalis in Qatar for help.

He shared that Rs. 125,000 has already been spent for the treatment so far. Karim Miya, who raised funds in Qatar, said that out of the Rs 200,000 has been sent for Tharu’s treatment.

The Tharu family had been temporarily residing in Shuklagandaki Municipality of Tanahu.

Likewise, a daughter of the injured Tharu has been provided free education up to class 12 at Panchamunidev Secondary School in Shuklagandaki Municipality.
