NC holds Province Assembly conventions in 61 districts

KATHMANDU: As per the schedule of the 14th General Convention, the regional conventions of the Nepali Congress Provincial Assembly have started in 61 districts on Friday.

According to the Central Election Committee, the convention has started as per the schedule in the remaining districts.

Congress Central Election Committee member Tej Bahadur Rawal said that the election process has also started in the districts where the convention has started.

The counting of votes has started after voting in some of the districts. “It is learnt that the convention has already started in 61 districts,” Rawal said.

The election committee has informed that the Province Assembly regional conventions have already been held in 13 districts and the district conventions have also been completed.

However, despite the commencement of various conventions in 74 districts, other conventions have not been able to move forward in Rasuwa, Sarlahi and Sindhupalchowk districts due to the row in ward conventions.

The conventions have been deferred in these districts, said the election committee.

NC has scheduled to hold the district conventions with only federal constituency on November 22 and in the districts having more than one constituency on November 26.

Similarly, province convention will be held on December 2-3 and general convention December 10-12.
